Chandler Fire Offers CPR and First Aid to the Public

The Chandler Fire Department offers classes in CPR and First Aid on the third Saturday of every month.  The next scheduled class is Saturday, August 15, 2009.  The training provided is the American Heart Association "Heartsaver" class and includes training in adult, child, and infant CPR.  Minimum age for the CPR portion of the class is 14 years.  The First Aid course is a basic class taught by one of our Firefighters. Certification cards will be provided for both segments of the training.  Minimum age for both CPR and First Aid is 14.  The CPR/First Aid class will be held at the Chandler Community Center, 125 E. Commonwealth Avenue Room 203, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.

The cost for the CPR portion of the class is $25.00 per person.  The First Aid portion is $15.00 per person.  You may elect to take either one or both elements. The fee for the class must be paid by Friday, August 7, 2009.  This is necessary so that we know exactly how many people will be in the class and how many instructors we will need to have. Checks should be made payable to C.E.R.F. and may be mailed to my attention at the Chandler Fire Department.   A minimum of four people is required to have a class.  Cancellations must be made at least one week before the scheduled class.  If the minimum number of participants is not met, the roster is transferred to the next month's class, or the money is refunded, whichever is preferred by the registered participant.
